The new president of the country voted with 78 votes by the Albanian Parliament, Bajram Begaj has held an informal meeting with former president Alfred Moisiu.
Contacted by Top Channel, Moisiu admitted that the meeting was requested by Mr. Begaj, while the meeting between them lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes, in the suburbs of Tirana.
The new head of state, Begaj has chosen to publish a photo of this meeting, where he describes Mr. Moisiu as a wise man and patriot and a president who knew to belong to all Albanians.
In the photo, the two hold in their hands the book “Between Nano and Berisha”, a political memorial of former President Moisiu’s experience in the chair of the head of state, while this seemed to be the main topic of their meeting.
Begaj expressed gratitude for the blessing received from Mr. Moisiu in the new duty, while both figures come from previous military duties.
In the coming days, the new head of state is expected to meet with former Presidents Bamir Topi and Rexhep Mejdani.
