Ukraine is trying in every way to restore grain exports from the Black Sea, and for this reason, it is also working with international partners, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko.
Russia has taken control of some of the country’s largest seaports, and its navy now controls major shipping routes. It has blocked shipments from Ukraine, the world’s largest grain producer, deepening the global food crisis.
“We call on states, which may be most affected by the food crisis due to Russian aggression against Ukraine, to use their contacts with Moscow and force it to lift the blockade on Ukrainian ports and end the war. . ”- said Oleg Nikolenko
Two days ago, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, also called for talks to unblock wheat exports that have been blocked in Ukraine as a result of a Russian naval blockade. Last week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Russia of using food as a weapon by holding hostage supplies not only to Ukrainians but to millions of people around the world. Russia and Ukraine together provide nearly a third of global supplies of cereal and sunflower oil.
