“We are talking about rallies where terrorist symbols and flags have been demonstrated. Letters to these ambassadors were handed over to the ambassadors of France and Germany. “We gave them a clear warning,” Cavusoglu said.
Although the minister did not specify which demonstrations had sparked Ankara’s reaction, he appeared to be referring to the Long Marches currently being held by Kurdish youth groups in Germany, France, Greece, England, Sweden and Switzerland.
Sunday’s marches are expected to last several days and are being held in protest of Turkey’s military operation in northern Iraq and mainly against militants in Kurdistan, the region spread between Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.
They express their support for Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and the guerrilla fighters who are fighting Turkey in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
