The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has closely followed the vaccination process at the Vaccination Center in the National Arena, where the vaccination of hospital health personnel and primary health care is continuing.
“We continue the vaccination in the National Arena with the medical staff. We will continue on Saturday and Sunday with the medical staff and the elderly over 80, according to the bandages. There are about 11 thousand vaccinations performed so far, while we continue to expand in the territory, opening today the vaccination center in Kukës and within a week, in Korça “, said the Minister of Health.
Speaking about the intensification of the vaccination process, Manastirliu said that the next quantities of vaccines will come, starting next week.
“Next week the next shipment from Pfizer will come. With the arrival of the vaccines, according to the contract calendar we have signed with Pfizer, on Monday we will continue to intensify and extend the vaccination. It is also expected that in the first 10 days of March, we will have a first shipment from the contract with Covax. “About 14,400 doses are planned, which are expected to come from this agreement concluded and prepaid by the Albanian government”, said Manastirliu.
Speaking about the vaccination of the elderly, Manastirliu said: “With the completion of doctors, nurses, all health personnel, with the completion of vaccination of the elderly in asylum, their caregivers, we will also intensify the vaccination of the elderly and we will continue “even during Sunday with the vaccination of the elderly +80, starting with the +90 year bandage, continuing the vaccination”, said Manastirliu.
Today, antiCOVID vaccination continues for health personnel and the elderly in Tirana, Shkodra, Vlora, Berat, Elbasan and Kukes. So far over 11 thousand vaccinations have been carried out, of which 782 are elderly and staff caring for them.
