The Kremlin has announced today that Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Ukraine of sabotaging peace talks with Russia.
The allegations are believed to have been made during a 45-minute phone call between Russian leader and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
Putin denied that the blockade of Ukrainian ports comes from his country and said he is not guilty of interrupting global food supplies, suggesting the real cause of the sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union.
The Austrian chancellor said the purpose of the call, described as “very intense, very serious”, was to determine whether possible humanitarian solutions could be found in Ukraine.
He also added that Putin said he was ready to discuss a prisoner exchange with Ukraine.
