The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, visited Buchan and Irpin in Ukraine.
She also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kiev.
The Finnish leader vowed to help rebuild cities and restore infrastructure, according to Ukraine’s prime minister.
The visit comes after Finland formally submitted its bid to join NATO in the face of Russian aggression in Eastern Europe.
After the meeting, Zelenskyy said that such visits by high-ranking politicians are “very important direct signals of their support.”
Regarding her visits to Irpin and Bucha, Marin said: “It was extremely difficult to see what Russia has done to these cities.
“Many people died,” he said. “At the same time, the heroic spirit of the Ukrainian people, who are fighting for their freedom and for the whole of Europe, is admirable.”
