Well-known Australian presenter, former athlete Erin Jayne Plummer has died “suddenly” at the age of 42.
The well-known journalist for presenting programs on the Studio 10 network was described as a “wonderful person” by her stunned colleagues, after giving the tragic news at the weekend.
The cause of Erin’s death has not been published.
She leaves behind her husband and three little girls.
Confirming Erin’s death, her Channel 10 colleague Sarah Harris called her “gold medal mom” in a homage.
She told viewers: “We have sad news for you today. Our network has lost a bit of sparkle as our colleague Erin Jayne has passed away suddenly.
“For two decades Erin Jayne has been one of the most popular faces on Australian television who has graced the mornings with her character.”
Erin had entered television after a sporting career in synchronized swimming and aerobics.
The accomplished athlete had represented Australia in ‘surf’ and water sports winning 11 national titles.
