Five people were jailed today in Britain for a total of 78 years for their part in the revenge murder of a young mother, for the debt of 70 euros she owed to the gang of traffickers.
36-year-old Alison McBlain, died from severe curative injuries was deliberately hit by a Fiat Punto on a central street in Blackburn on November 19, 2019.
The Preston jury found Joshua Titterington, Karis Poynton, Dean Qayum and Kaylib Connolly guilty of her murder.
A five-year-old accused was found guilty of manslaughter.
The court was told that shortly before the attack, McBlain and Rivers victims had agreed to buy cocaine from a criminal gang.
But McBlain had left without paying the money so the gang members launched their revenge plan.
The drugs would be supplied by Dean Qayum and Kaylib Connolly.
Connolly apparently drove the car, while Qayum, Titterington and a 16-year-old were passengers when McBlain was fatally hit.
The court was told how the Punto vehicle, driven by Connolly, had climbed the sidewalk and hit McBlain of Christian Rivers shortly after 7.30pm. The woman died a few hours later in hospital, with her 13-year-old son by the bedside.
The five culprits were sentenced to a total of 78 and a half years.
