The Socialist majority left the challenge of proposing presidential candidacies to the opposition.
In the second and third rounds in parliament, only the candidacies that will come from the opposition will go to the polls.
The process of electing the new president is already turning into a multiple challenge for Enkelejd Alibeaym who has to consult with his parliamentary group divided into three parts.
The first signals for accepting the demands of the opposition were given by two of the three representatives of the socialist negotiating troika, Damian Gjiknuri and Elisa Spiropali.
After 90 minutes of discussions, the chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, and counterpart Enkelejt Alibeaj sealed the agreement.
The only dissatisfied from this roundtable came Fatmir Mediu who demands a unified name of the candidate within the opposition, which means that Sali Berisha should also be asked, although the Socialists have excluded him from this process.
When Mediu saw that a consensus was being reached between Alibej and the Socialists, he saw himself redundant at the table and left together with Agron Duka.
