Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that while his army was doing everything possible to remove Russian forces from Ukrainian territory, “today no one can predict how long this war will last.”
Addressing the nation in the late hours of May 13, Zelensky said the outcome would depend not only on the Ukrainian people, but on “our partners, European countries, the whole free world.”
Russian forces have suffered heavy losses since launching the invasion of Ukraine on February 24 and have made little progress in the offensive currently under way in eastern Ukraine.
