Gjirokastra police have finalized another operation codenamed “ROAD GUARD 18”.
As a result of the operation, LD citizen, 36 years old, resident in Peshkopi, who was transporting four illegal immigrants for profit, was arrested in flagrante delicto.

Specialists of the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking, in cooperation with the Traffic Police services, following the work to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign nationals, for illegal border crossing, for profit, based on police information, have successfully organized and finalized the police operation “ROAD GUARD 18”.
As a result of the operation, LD citizen, 36 years old, resident in Peshkopi, was arrested in flagrante delicto. During the operation, the Traffic Police services caught in flagrante delicto, on the Tepelena-Memaliaj road axis, in a place called “Majkosh”, the LD citizen, transporting with the vehicle type “Ford”, 4 illegal immigrants from MENA countries, against profit. As material evidence, a vehicle, a mobile phone and a large amount of money suspected of having benefited from this criminal activity were seized. The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Gjirokastra Court of First Instance, for the criminal offense of “Assisting in illegal border crossing”.
