Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and Washington Ambassador John Sullivan met in Moscow today.
Following the meeting, the US embassy announced that the US remains committed to opening channels of communication with the Russian government for two reasons, to advance US interests and to reduce the risk of attacks in Ukraine.
Relations between Moscow and Washington have dropped to their lowest level since the Cold War after Moscow sent its armed forces to Ukraine in late February.
