Ari Isufaj has been living in Texas for 22 years and says he has never experienced such low temperatures before. He tells the situation on February 14, when he had planned to celebrate with his wife, Blinera. “We woke up in the morning, there was no light, it was very cold. We were very unprepared. In that situation we thought what would be the older ones and those with children. “After we cooked for ourselves we asked who wanted food, and we were surprised when most said yes.”
The Albanian couple owns a restaurant in Texas and in those cold days without electricity put the staff and environment at the disposal of people in need of food. “In the beginning we announced with messages. On the second day we posted an announcement on the restaurant’s Facebook page. Centers were opened for heating in two churches not far from the restaurant. And we went there, we sent food, there were a lot of people.
We had no idea he needed so much help. “We could not stay home that day without doing something.”
Their gesture attracted the attention of foreign media like Abc or Fox News. Ari says that he has received many messages from all Albanian lands.
