More than half of Albanians can not save money. These are the findings of a survey conducted by the Bank of Albania according to which about 62% of households find it impossible to set aside money due to the low income they receive.
While the rest (38%) turn out to be able to save from their income. The most frugal seem to be families with 3 members, while the least inclined to save are those with one member.
But what do Albanians save more for?

The main source of income for most Albanian families who use them for consumption but also for saving are those from work, followed by remittances that have a significant weight and serve as a great help to many Albanians who have outside their relatives.
Albanians spend most of their spending on food, which according to INSTAT accounts for about 42% of total family budgets.
In its findings, the Central Bank estimates that an Albanian family spends an average of 35.3 thousand ALL per month on food and services related to energy, water, gas or telephone and internet payments.
