Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has asked the Parliament to withdraw from his bank account the money paid for the month of February for diets.
In an announcement on “Facebook”, Berisha writes that he will not accept any diet until the end of his term.
He adds that he can afford his moves outside Tirana with his income.
“Today I learned from the media that in my bank account the parliament has paid for February the diet for me and for 93 other deputies the amount of 75,250 lek diet.
Regarding the above, I declare the following:
I had no knowledge of these diets.
I ask the parliament to withdraw them from my bank account where it deposited them.
I am a deputy of the Tirana District and as such I will not accept any diet until the end of my term.
“I will cover my movements outside the Tirana District with my income”, writes Berisha.
