In the last three days, Kosovo border police have been attacked four times in Zubin Potok.
No police officers were injured in any of the attacks. To conduct investigations, Kosovo Police blocked part of the main road leading to the Brnjak border crossing, however there were alternative routes to reach this point.
Three border police officers traveling to the Brnjak border crossing to take up duty on Friday morning were attacked with Kalashnikovs and hand grenades. The place where the attack took place is on the road axis of Zubin Potok that leads to this border point. The Police and the Prosecution spent hours inspecting the scene.
Kosovo police found AK47 cartridges and pieces of grenade at the site of Friday’s attack. And from the attacks of three days earlier, other things were found, from which the police escaped because of the armored vehicles.
The Minister of Internal Affairs called the attacks terrorist and orchestrated by Serbia in order to intimidate the police and the citizens of Kosovo.
In the area where the attacks took place, Kosovo police months ago blocked some more. Meanwhile, Chief Executive Albin Kurti urged Serbia to distance itself from attacks on police officers.
The European Union has condemned the attack on border police, calling for no tensions in northern Kosovo.
