Just a few days ago Fiks Fare showed the many vicissitudes that a hemodialysis patient endured at the expense of his transport to the hospital and vice versa. Living in the village and where public transport is lacking, Xhevat Cuhllaj, who performed dialysis 3 times a week in Durrës, had to leave at 06:00 in the morning and enter the house at 21:20 in the evening.
But after his complaint to Fiks Fare the ordeal of 9 years of suffering ended. Weekend Ndryshe, sensitized by the Fiks Fare chronicle, donates a car to him and three other patients undergoing dialysis in the Xhevat area.
Xhevat is donated a car to alleviate the problem of lack of transportation and insufficient reimbursement that the state gives to these patients. Mr. Cullhaj from Stërgebu of Spille was reimbursed by the state for transport 4 thousand ALL per month, while he spent 12 thousand ALL per month.
The journalists of Fiks together with Arbër Hajadri, the executive director of the foundation “Fundjavë Ndryshe” left for the village of Stërbeg to personally hand over the car to Mr. Xhevdet. Hajdari also promised that the assistance does not end there, but that every month he will provide fuel tolls to cover the transportation costs of the three patients who perform dialysis in that area.
Xhevat is surprised by the donation of the car and thanks to the Different Weekend and Fiks Fare he says “My vicissitudes of 9 years and other sick people like me in this area came to an end. “We will no longer wait on the street in the sun, rain and cold.” With tears in his eyes, he thanks Fiks, thanks to whom it was possible to find a means of transport for the dialysis patients of Spille.
