Norway’s Defense Minister Odd Roger Enoksen has resigned after it was revealed he was linked to a much younger girl.
“I have made some wrong choices and judgments and I will apologize for my actions that have made life more difficult for others.” said Enoksen.
Enoksen started dating in 2005 when his girlfriend was an 18-year-old student. The school had organized a visit to the Norwegian parliament in the capital Oslo, where it met with the politician, who was then 50 years old.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store spoke to reporters saying he hopes to appoint a new defense minister as soon as possible.
“It is a necessary decision,” said the prime minister, noting that he had accepted Enoksen’s resignation.
