A teenager from Florida to the US has died and two of his friends have been arrested as they were having fun shooting at each other wearing bulletproof vests, police said.
16-year-old Christopher Broad was found with at least one gunshot wound in his home and was rushed to hospital but could not survive.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Broad and another boy, 17-year-old Joshua Vining, had been shooting at each other, wearing a vest “that had some form of bodily protection,” Bellevue police said in a statement.
A third teenager, Colton Whitler, had been present at the time of the tragedy and had given an inaccurate testimony of what had happened.
“Vining fired at Broad as he was wearing his vest but hit him,” the statement said.
Whitler and Vining were arrested yesterday in connection with Broad’s death and charges against them will be raised as for adults.
Vining is charged with aggravated manslaughter with a firearm, while Whitler is charged with false information to authorities.
