Ledia Kostandini is a visitor to the villa of the Italian residence who metaphorically that on a winter night left the bed and went out and painted the narrow corridor because she had no sleep. The corridor is the mural she created.
Over the virgin walls Ledia adds details from the city’s intriguing history, childish touches, fragments of dreams, limbs of gentle animals and wild people, here and there scenes from the Gulliverian Travels, dots and migratory birds.
“It is a mural project, located on the second floor of this residence. It is located in his private area. The corridor is titled. It lies in this narrow corridor and 20 meters long, “said Ledia Kostandini.
The whole hallway is a repertoire and imaginary props waiting for us before we enter the room and hit us when we leave it.
“I was impressed by a very interesting vision that he has to tear down the walls, whether they are symbolic but not physical. To put at the center of this mission precisely art, culture and the artist himself as the protagonist. I am pleased to be one of the artists that I am presenting and promoting here. ”- said Ledia Kostandini.
“Corridor” was born as an idea at the end of 2020 when the project of the illustrator Ledia Kostandini was selected the winner of the competition organized by the Embassy of Italy in Tirana, within the XX Week of Italian Language in the World. Following, the artist was given the opportunity to realize a work of art in the premises of the Italian Residence.
It is a work that will live after me and after Ledia and after the ambassador. It is mural, it is like those Byzantine churches which are painted in the 1300s and lengthen and then restored again. So Ledia has left her mark.
