Russia’s ambassador to the UN has insisted that no civilians were harmed during the month-long Russian occupation of the Ukrainian city of Bucha, as he accused Ukraine of staging evidence.
At a news conference in New York, Vasily Nebenzia said it was a “staged provocation” by Western countries.
He accused the United Kingdom of “unprecedented abuse” of its role this month as president of the UN Security Council.
After Russian troops left the city of Bucha, hundreds of victims were found there, some buried and others thrown into the streets.
