The manner of Harris’s death was labeled as “unspecified” by the forensic pathologist, as well as ketamine and diazepam intoxication.
Investigators also uncovered numerous messages between Ryan and Harris indicating that the girl was asking the doctor for various drugs from his clinic. The dentist replied that ‘he would find them for her’.
“Dr. “Ryan was also giving instructions on how to amplify the effects of some of the drugs he was giving,” Jones added, according to the network. WTOP .
He also mentioned that saline fluids, syringes or dependent serums for drug administration or reparation from their effects would come out of the clinic, the official added.
Jones added that Harris had given the victim the anesthetic ketamine while she was asleep.
The young woman was a former Ryan patient and had started working with her as an assistant at the Evolution Oral Surgery clinic, later becoming his girlfriend.
Harris was described by the daily Daily Mail as a model aspirant who had competed in the Miss Maryland Petite beauty pageant in March 2021.
The documents showed that among the messages discovered by the victim’s relatives was one where on November 14, 2021, it was written, “Can you take some propofol and ketamine, please?”
Ryan had replied, “OK.”
Harris replied, “Thank you dear,” but then added, “Excuse me, I need some more syringes.”
Police Chief Jones added that Harris’s family had noticed her physical changes and the fact that she no longer looked healthy.
“In one of the cases they found him in a changed state of consciousness and that his arms were full of needle piercings and scratches,” the network writes. Bethesda Magazine.
Authorities said their conversations revealed that the girl had suffered another overdose in December, but no evidence of this was found in emergency calls.
Asked if Harris’s death could have been an “assisted suicide”, officials said they had found no evidence.
Jones added: “I’m concerned that he did this to the patient and we were able to find out, but this may not be his only victim.”
Asked if Ryan was cooperating with investigators, Jones added: “I can not say that he is completely open to cooperation, but he does not seem surprised by the accusations.”
Authorities did not say whether Ryan himself used the illegal drugs, but one of his lawyers said he had received treatment for addiction and mental health issues.
Investigations are ongoing.
