In the first half of 2022, there are 184 road accidents throughout Albania, compared to 204 accidents that occurred in the same period a year ago.
The General Directorate of Road Transport Service announced today that in this period, the number of injured is 247 people out of 268 people injured in the same period a year ago, or 7.8 percent less compared to 2021 .
According to DPSHTRR, the number of accidents caused by drivers under 25 has decreased by almost 30 percent. Whereas, 25 percent of accidents are caused by the 25-34 age group, or 23 percent less than in 2021.
“We have more careful young drivers. “As the number of vehicles in circulation increases, the number of accidents decreases”, stressed DPSHTRR.
According to the DPSHTRR, the mortality index per 10,000 vehicles is estimated at 1.8 in the period January-February, marking a decrease of 33 percent compared to 2021.
Meanwhile, 29 accidents were caused by the behavior of pedestrians as a cause of “careless crossing of the road”. This figure is 28 percent lower compared to 2021.
