Russian forces “remain largely blocked throughout Ukraine, but have about 90% of” their combat power still available, “says a senior US defense official.
In a statement, the official said Russian forces had not made “significant progress” toward Kiev north or northwest and that there was “no movement of Russian forces” east of the capital.
“We continue to see heavy bombardment there. “Ukrainians are defending the city.” they add.
More than 1,080 Russian missiles have been fired since the start of the war, the US official says.
He says reports of rocket attacks near Lviv International Airport are true, but the extent of the damage is not yet known.
