Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday that Russian bombing was preventing authorities in the southern city of Mariupol from establishing humanitarian corridors.
The Russian military says fighting has reached the city center, while thousands of civilians remain stranded.
In his last address to the nation, Zelensky said hundreds of people are still trapped under the rubble of a theater there that was bombed on Thursday.
The Ukrainian president also said that Western arms deliveries to Ukraine are very slow.
“We again remind some Western leaders that it would be a moral loss for them if Ukraine did not take advanced weapons.” he added.
