Prime Minister Edi Rama has rejected the statement of the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, who expressed doubts that there are Albanian mercenaries in Ukraine,
During the conference held with the Vice President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, Rama said that this is a disturbing and baseless accusation. He added that he is following this issue closely.
Raman: Regarding Russian propaganda, we also discussed the mention of Albania by the Moscow authorities as a problematic presence in this conflict and the accusation that Albania is supplying Ukraine with mercenaries together with Kosovo is an accusation in the first place without any basis, but even disturbing. However we are following this aspect very closely as well.
The head of government said that the Third World War should be avoided, because according to him, this war affects us all. He expressed confidence that the EU has the conditions to neutralize this situation.
Raman: We must avoid a third world war so the weapon that the Kremlin is using, we must neutralize it with a lot of patience, with a lot of determination and with great clarity that it is not a war that does not belong to us. It’s entirely up to us that it is to defend what we have fought before and not to go back there but also a war to not allow Russia’s force to extend beyond coming here or going down. I believe that the EU has the conditions to neutralize this weapon and I am sure that it will neutralize it because it has all the resources.
