Russia has asked China for military assistance to continue the war in Ukraine.
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told CNN that China’s support for Russia is a serious concern.
“We are watching closely to see the extent to which China is providing support to Russia. It is a concern, we have communicated to Beijing that we will not allow any country to compensate Russia for its losses from economic sanctions“, Said Sullivan.
Sullivan said the U.S. has made it clear to Beijing that there will be consequences for efforts to give the Kremlin a solution to U.S. sanctions.
“We will not allow Russia to have a way out of these economic sanctions from any country anywhere in the world”He said.
Sullivan will meet with Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi in Rome on Monday.
