Russian forces do not seem to intend to stop. Last week a maternity hospital in Mariupol was bombed and as a result, a pregnant woman died along with her baby, still unborn.
Images of the woman being rushed to a stretcher ambulance had circulated around the world, reflecting the horror of a horrific attack.
As the doctors tried to save her, the woman was feeling that she was losing the baby and shouted loudly: “Kill me now.”
Doctor Timur Marin indicated that the baby was born by cesarean section, but there were no signs of life.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid said the bombing of the hospital was a war crime, adding:
“It’s a terrible cruelty; “It’s a war crime, because under international law you can not attack health facilities, hospitals.”
After the bombings, Russia denied launching attacks on a hospital. Moscow claimed that the building had been occupied by Ukrainian extremists and that no patients or doctors had been left inside.
