The Ukrainian military says Russian troops have opened fire on a convoy evacuating civilians from besieged Ukrainian cities, killing seven people.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the attacked convoy was carrying women and children, who were leaving a village northwest of Kiev.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine one of the victims was a child.
Ukrainian intelligence said the incident took place in an open humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians from the village of Peremoha. This corridor, as the Ukrainian authorities said, was opened with the consent of both parties.
The intelligence also said that other residents who survived the attack were forced to return to Peremoha and are not being allowed to leave the village.
Ukraine has on several occasions accused Russia of violating ceasefire agreements for the evacuation of civilians and attacking civilian targets.
