Palestinians clashed today with the Israeli army which destroyed the homes of the families of two suspects in the killing of a resident of the Israeli colonies there.
The incident took place near the town of Yenin in the occupied West Bank lands where the construction of new Israeli colonies has caused severe tensions among residents.
The brother of the owner of one of the destroyed houses told the AFP network that the act was a collective and unjust punishment by the Israeli army:
“This house has two apartments in one building, the house of Mohamed Jaradat and his son Ibrahim Jaradat, who will now be left homeless.”
“There is no doubt that this family has received a collective punishment, just like other families of the Palestinian people.”
Ahmed Jaradat, the owner of the destroyed house, said:
“My message to the occupiers is that this is a great injustice. “Collective punishment does not exist here on earth or in the afterlife.”
“Everywhere you look today, the tide of protectionist sentiment is flowing. “What can Israel expect from us if it destroys our homes?”
