The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha is holding a meeting with some of the teachers in Tirana, on the occasion of the March 7 holiday, where he did not give any direct comment on yesterday’s elections.
While congratulating the teachers and praising them for their role in education, Basha referred to the election result where it is not in favor so far, as he said that today is a noticeable day, not only in terms of weather.
“A deep thank you for everything you have done for the younger generation. Congratulations on March 7 made in nsije, but unfortunately we are not around a holiday table. We can not be around a holiday table because the situation has been getting worse. Instead of teachers being offered reforms, conditions and rising where they deserve, they are now at a disadvantage. Wages have been reduced compared to the region. These are very big problems that have only been aggravated, because there was a lack of consistency of words with deeds, with words the budget in education would have increased and this would have been good news that there would be no Albanians who would not had supported. The opposite has happened, even as a percentage, Albanian teachers remain the most discriminated.
Although it is a cloudy day, not only in terms of weather, I want to wish you happy holidays to all teachers happy March 7th. “Everything we have achieved in life is dedicated to you just like biological parents”, said Basha.
