Russia’s Defense Ministry said it would stop the shooting on Monday, to allow civilians to leave their homes in the Ukrainian cities of Kiev, Kharkiv, Sumy and Mariupol.
According to state media, Russia has indicated that despite the continuing violation of previous agreements, it will open new humanitarian corridors in many Ukrainian cities to allow the evacuation of civilians.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the ceasefire will take place from 10:00 Moscow time, with evacuation routes located in the capital Kiev, as well as in Kharkiv, Mariupol and Sumy.
The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on this issue.
Last weekend, two attempts to open an evacuation route for civilians from Mariupol in the southeast of the country failed. According to Ukrainian officials, this was because Russia violated the ceasefire agreement they had agreed upon and continued to bomb the city.
