Blerim Shera of the Socialist Party has been elected the new mayor of Vora for a 1-year term with 7530 votes.
In second place came the candidate of the coalition “House of Freedom”, Lulzim Vrana while the candidate of the Democratic Party, Ymer Marku came in third place.
Out of 30,344 voters in the municipality of Vora, only 11,096 citizens chose to exercise their right to vote. Vora is the first municipality to announce the election result due to the electronic counting. Immediately after the result came out, Blerim Shera said that he would continue the projects left halfway by the Socialists.
The Municipality of Vora is the only one of the 6 municipalities where voting and counting was done electronically. this brought difficulties mainly for older people, while the problem was also electronic identification.
From the result for the municipality of Vora with three administrative units, Vora, Preza and Bërxull it was noticed that also in Gërdec the Coalition House of Freedom received 32 votes while the Democratic Party 6 votes.
The election process in Vora was accompanied by problems since the late start after the official hours due to the rejection of the chairmen of the commissions presented by the Democratic Party, as the latter were not residents in Vora, so from 44 polling stations in half of them the process took place with 4 members each, a sufficient number for the electoral process.
