654,538 Albanian citizens will go to the polls today to elect new mayors in the municipalities of Vora, Shkodra, Durres, Dibra, Lushnje and Rrogozhina between the candidates of SP, PD and the coalition “House of Freedom” consisting of SMI and PDK .
Those elected in these elections will have a 1-year term. 10,134 voters are voting for the first time, while 135 citizens have not been included in the lists due to decriminalization. In all 6 municipalities there will be 941 polling stations that will be open from 07:00 to 19:00.
In all polling stations there will be electronic identification, while in Vora voting and counting will be electronic where the result will be announced immediately after the election. For the other five municipalities, the result is expected to be released within 48 hours or earlier, announced a few days ago the head of the CEC, Ilirjna Celibashi. The by-elections were decreed by President Meta on January 20 this year due to vacancies created by decriminalization or resignations.
