A 40-year-old man has appeared in court today in Britain accused of killing his divorced parents, who were found stabbed more than 20km apart in the West of England.
William Warrington, from Cheltenham, is accused of killing his father Clive, 67, and mother Valerie, 73, whose bodies were found at two different addresses Wednesday morning.
The accused is believed to have committed the two murders on Friday night.
Warrington appeared before the Cheltenham court with direct video link to the gray jumpsuits of the prison.
He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth, as well as to signal that he was not well with the hearing.
The victims were divorced and were found at two different addresses Wednesday morning.
Mr Warrington was found at his home in Cheltenham following reports of an attack Friday night, Gloucestershire police said.
While his ex-wife was found at an address about 20 km away a little later.
Judge Andy Hill told the accused: “These charges are too serious and we can not handle the parole application. “We are sending you into custody and the trial will take place in Bristol on March 8.”
Mrs. Warrington’s family members thanked the benefactors for their condolences for the tragic event.
Among the people paying homage was Dr. Charlie Chan, who had worked for years with Mrs. Warrington at Cheltenham Hospital, where she was his personal assistant.
He said: “Val has been my assistant for 13 years and we had many fond memories. “Clive came to our house and we saw how their children grew up.”
British police have not yet clarified the circumstances of the gruesome event but said the suspect had been arrested near the scene of one of the killings.
“We appeal to all people with information that can help us investigate the tragedy.”
Mr Warrington was found dead on the ground floor of a house that had been divided into several apartments. A neighbor of the deceased said: “I am shocked, the man who died has been my best friend for at least ten years.”
