Albania was a co-sponsor with 95 other countries of a resolution in the UN General Assembly condemning Russian aggression against Ukraine.
This alignment of our country on a united pro-Ukrainian front has not gone unnoticed by the Ukrainian presidency producing a phone call between President Zelensky and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Full conversation between them:
Rama: Hello?
Zelensky: Hello, Prime Minister,
Rama: Yes
Zelensky: I am the President of Ukraine
Rama: Mr. President, how are you?
Zelensky: Thank you very much, Mr. Prime Minister, thank you for this call
Rama: No, thank you. I do not want to repeat to you what the whole world is saying about you, but I’m just telling you that I wish I could do more for you, for your country! And I wish you triumph.
This conversation was announced via Twitter by President Zelenski himself, who left.
“I had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama. We talked about the war with the Russian occupiers and the joint work with the UN. We appreciate the practical help and support of Albania in these difficult times. We are doing everything we can to end the war.
President Zelensky closes the post with the hashtag “Stop Russia.” President Zelenski praises what he calls practical assistance from Albania, but without giving details.
It is a Twitter post of the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi where it is shed light on what kind of help it is.
“Proud of the assistance provided by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in defense of sovereignty and freedom.” says the defense minister.
Sources from the Ministry of Defense told Top Channel that it is about a significant amount of bullets sent to Ukraine.
The channels used in sending this aid to the final destination Ukraine are not disclosed.
