On the fifth day of the war, the invaders in Ukraine have hit residential areas, shops and infrastructure. Russian forces have set fire to a shopping mall and a vegetable supermarket in Bordyanka.
As talks begin in Belarus, Russian forces continue shelling Chernihiv. In the affected area are private and multi-storey residential buildings and everywhere you can see plumes of smoke that have covered the place.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense claimed that 352 civilians had lost their lives since the beginning of the occupation, including, unfortunately, 14 children. But the resistance continues, even at such levels that it seems to have surprised Moscow. The Kremlin expected a very quick takeover of Kiev, and apparently had planned a brief war, but it did not turn out that way.
The strong Ukrainian resistance, of the army but also of the civilians themselves, did not allow Moscow to take control of the major urban centers, as it had hoped.
