Although he told Russia the day before that he considers its attack on Ukraine unacceptable, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has not spared criticism of NATO and the European Union.
“To date, Turkey has been very open and clear about NATO’s position,” Erdogan said.
“This summit should not turn into an ordinary punishment ‘color’. NATO needs to take a more decisive step”.
The Turkish leader noted that, unfortunately, the European Union and all those who adhere to pro-Western views have not yet shown a serious and decisive stance on the Ukraine issue.
“All they do is give a lot of advice to Ukraine. There is no specific step to be taken. The advice continues to this day. Steps on this issue will be discussed at today’s NATO summit“, Said the Turkish leader.
Regarding the evacuation of Turkish citizens from Ukraine, President Erdogan said that the air route is not safe at the moment, so it is planned that the evacuation will be carried out by land.
“All institutions, whether the Embassy or our Consulates General are ready to take any action“, Assured the president. / TRT
