Exports of Russian gas through pipelines passing through Ukrainian territory continue despite the military conflict.
The news was announced this Friday by the Russian company Gazprom.
“Gazprom is supplying gas as usual through lines passing through the region of Ukraine and according to the requirements of European customers,” the company said. According to her, today, 103.8 million cubic meters of gas have been exported.
At the same time, gas transport eastward to Poland via the Yamal-Europe pipeline has quadrupled, according to German gas operator Gascade.
It is not yet clear whether the large export of this material to Europe is related to events in Ukraine.
The Yamal-Europe network, which connects Poland and Germany, typically exports about 15 percent of Russian gas supplies to Europe and Turkey, but since December the network has not functioned as expected due to rising gas prices in Europe.
