The citizens of Ukraine spent a night without sleep and anxiety after the constant Russian attacks.
This morning, along with the sun shining in the sky, sirens sounded throughout the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.
They rang through the city overnight and in the early hours of the morning as Russian missiles hit civilian and military targets.
“Kiev was not a city that woke up because few slept“, Said BBC correspondent Nick Beake.
In another incident occurred overnight after a Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-27 fighter jet crashed over the capital. Photos from the emergency services showed a two-story house on fire after the wreckage of a plane fell on it, though it was unclear if they were from the Su-27 aircraft.
Many others have already fled Kiev, the streets leading to the west of the capital were full of cars on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said the country’s air strike troops blew up a bridge over the Teteriv River in Ivankiv, about 50 kilometers north of Kiev, in a bid to prevent a convoy of Russian forces from advancing toward the capital.
While the ministry said Russian progress had stalled, the information would bring some consolation to residents sheltered in Kiev.
