As the price of oil in the country has reached the highest historical levels at about 200 lek per liter, the pump concession company Noa Control has asked the government to review the tariff for this service.
In a press release, the Minister of Finance Delina Ibrahimaj said that this department is reviewing the request, but did not rule out the possibility of approving its increase, which would automatically affect the further increase in fuel prices.
“We are in the case when the concessionaire has made a request. MFE has set up a working group if we are in the conditions of tariff increase, the technical group has not yet come up with a result. There is no Finance initiative to increase, let alone double the fee. The technical group will come up with a result for these tariffs especially at the moment oil prices are at the highest levels.
Minister Ibrahimaj did not disclose the arguments raised by the gas station concessionaire to change this tariff at the height of the price increase, which if it happens will further aggravate the pockets of citizens who are facing a wave of price increases for all goods and services.
Albania has about 25 thousand pumps at gas stations and currently the pump control fee is estimated at 14 thousand ALL per pump each year, a payment that goes to the account of the company Noa Control that provides the service.
