Following meetings with state leaders and international organizations, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, President Osmani met with the President of Latvia, Egils Levits.
President Osmani thanked President Levits for the continuous support that Latvia has provided to the Republic of Kosovo. The current situation in Ukraine and its impact on the Baltic states and the Western Balkans were discussed at the meeting. President Osmani stressed that Russia has consistently aimed and still aims to destabilize the Balkans.
The Presidency, through a press release, says that among other things, in this meeting between the two presidents was discussed the Euro-Atlantic future of the Republic of Kosovo, and the ways in which Latvia can support our country in this regard. Latvia was asked to support the visa liberalization process, through discussions with member states, which may be reluctant to do so.
President Osmani said that the Baltic states serve as a good example to follow and that the Republic of Kosovo will continue to take concrete steps to advance its status in further integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
