The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenski, joined the International Security Forum in Munich, demanding a meeting of global powers to obtain new guarantees for Ukraine, as according to him, the current global system is very weak.
“The architecture of international security is at a critical juncture. We will defend our country with or without the help of partners, but the whole world must act because this is your contribution to European and international security. “I do not know what President Putin thinks or has decided to attack, so I propose to meet with him,” he said.
President Zelenski further added that Western powers must abandon their policy of appeasement towards Moscow and act through solutions that guarantee security and peace.
Earlier in the forum, US Vice President Kamala Harris said Washington would strengthen NATO’s eastern flank to curb further Russian military progress, in parallel with warnings of strong and coordinated sanctions. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and European Commission President Ursula von der Layen once again addressed the danger of an imminent Russian attack, which if it happens will be followed by strong action by the West. .
According to US intelligence estimates, Russia is disturbing the situation in eastern Ukraine to have a pretext for new aggression against Ukraine. Even the latest bombings in the region are considered part of Russia’s strategy to create false provocations.
