Northern Albanians say they are being discriminated against, after demanding energy payment.
The three villages of Mitrovica across the Ibar River will be forced to pay for electricity this year.
For residents this is unacceptable, as their neighbors are paid for energy costs by the Government of Kosovo.
The representative of the village of Vinarc i Epërm demands equal treatment of the citizens of this area.
The residents of Gushavc have the same request for the Government. But the representative of this village adds that they feel discriminated against their neighbors.
Residents of Kosovo’s northern municipalities have not paid their electricity bills since the post-war period.
Meanwhile, at the end of January, KEDS asked the Albanian residents of the villages Vinarc i Epërm, Vinarc i Poshtëm and Gushavc to pay the obligation.
Northern Albanians have started meeting with representatives of institutions to find a solution.
