The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti through a post on the social network Facebook calls on the citizens of Kosovo to be vaccinated, while emphasizing that today they have reached over 1.8 million doses of anti-Covid vaccine.
He also mentions the donation of 515,970 additional doses from the United States.
Prime Minister Kurti’s Facebook post:
Today we have recorded over 1.8 million doses of anti-COVID vaccine administered in the Republic of Kosovo, while almost 900,000 citizens have been vaccinated with at least one dose. These achievements have come as a result of the will of the citizens of the Republic to protect themselves and others around them, as well as the tireless work of health workers, for which we are all grateful.
However, while the pandemic is not over yet, our vaccination campaign still needs to continue. For this reason, we received yesterday a donation from the United States of 515,970 additional doses; in total over 1 million vaccines provided by the US are available. This donation will help Kosovo to expand as much as possible the immunity of our population. We are eternally grateful to the US and other allies who have contributed to our battle against COVID-19.
I call on all citizens to take the first two doses as soon as possible. Protection against infection, hospitalization, and loss of life decreases significantly starting several months after immunization with the first two doses. Therefore, to regain full immunity you should also take the third booster dose, as soon as three months have passed since taking the second dose.
With added care, together we will succeed.
