The Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, visited the Juvenile Institute in Kavaja, where there are also two juveniles from Durrës. Mayor Sako got acquainted with the environments of young people who talked about the care shown for their integration into society.
During the joint conversations with the juveniles, it was discussed about the activities offered by the institution, coexistence in the institution, the courses that the juveniles attended, their stories.
Mayor Emiriana Sako has donated books to all minors while two talented minors in the subject of mathematics have donated special publications for this subject. Another special gift went to a very talented juvenile in painting. Mayor Sako has donated a complete set of professional equipment that serves a painter. In her speech, the mayor stated that these young people should be nourished as much as possible with the spirit of art, culture, book, which will serve them when they return to society because learning today – she added – serves integration in society tomorrow and will keep them away from negative phenomena.
Mayor Sako stated that the municipality of Durrës has been supporting excellent young people for years but will now turn its attention to these young people to help them integrate into society after completing their stay at this institute:
“Our work with young people is not only the establishment of the youth council or the support of excellent young people which is a long-term tradition in the municipality of Durres but today we are at the juvenile institute in Kavaja to express our support for these young people who have been part of the negative phenomena in society. Today we have donated books and professional didactic tools to these young people who are in this institution so that when they do not have other activities in this institute they have a better access to books, reading and we explained the possibilities of inclusion. of the activities they carry out here, extra and professional lessons with the labor market after the end of their stay in this institution ”.
Sako stated that these children should be stimulated to learn and read as much as possible and to develop their talents in art and culture. The various activities that children develop in this institute, book, sport, culture give these children an opportunity to challenge the closed world by displaying the value of freedom, through art.
