The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja has called on the deputies to vote in favor of the two-year extension of the vetting process.
According to him, it is the only instrument to clean up corruption.
“Vetting is an instrument to clean up corruption. There are 71 subjects for re-evaluation, there are still 300 subjects to be re-evaluated. It is necessary to extend the deadline by 2 years because it enables the smooth vetting process! By extending the deadlines we avoid conflict of interest situations “.
According to Manja, vetting has been assessed by the majority as a key element for the justice system:
“When the justice reform started, we as the majority accepted it as the guarantor of this process. Not only 94 votes, but how it was voted at midnight on July 12, 2016, with 140 votes from all my fellow MPs, regardless of political affiliation “said Manja.
The Assembly is expected to vote this Thursday on the extension of deadlines for vetting bodies, while the Democratic Party has so far stated that it will vote in favor of the decision.
