Facebook leader Mark Zuckerberg has issued a warning to users taking ‘screenshot’ photos of their conversations in Messenger.
Head of Facebook and sister company Meta, said in a post that soon one update on the Messenger network will notify users that an image of their conversations has been retrieved by another user.
“A Messenger network update will send notification if anyone has taken pictures of a missing message,” Zuckerberg wrote, accompanied by a ‘screenshot’ of a conversation with his wife.
The announcement comes after the Messenger platform has added the option that makes their messages disappear after a while.
The option has been launched in the US and will come to Facebook users in Europe soon, the network writes USA Today.
Several other messaging platforms have brought the option of deleting messages and notification when a conversation is photographed with a ‘screen-shot’.
Reports say Facebook’s move comes in response to security concerns and network privacy rights.
But other users had their recommendations: “When will the ‘dislike’ button be added?” Someone wrote in Zuckerberg’s post.
Someone else unhappy added: “Maybe you can also learn how to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless or something.”
