Tirana Traffic Police this Monday has published the balance of the week we left behind and according to which it is learned that 26 drivers have been arrested, 179 driving licenses have been suspended and 21 vehicles have been blocked.
In a press release, it is learned that During the last week, 26 people were arrested, 2 juveniles were released and 2 people were declared wanted, namely:
- 19 persons were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense “Irregular driving” (drunk);
- 7 persons were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of Driving irregularly (without a driving license);
- Two juvenile citizens were prosecuted for the criminal offenses of “Driving illegally (without a driving license)”, “Disobeying the order of a police officer” and “Violation of traffic rules”;
- 2 persons have been declared wanted, for the criminal offenses “Violation of traffic rules” and “Leaving the place of accident”;
- Also during the week, 5 cases of bribery were identified and hit. In these cases, 5 drivers were caught red-handed, for the criminal offense “Active corruption against persons exercising public functions”.
- 1 driver was arrested in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offense “Falsification of official documents”.
197 driving licenses have been suspended, divided according to violations:
- 44 for violation of the article “Driving under the influence of alcohol”;
- 122 for violation of the article “Speed restrictions”;
- 31 for other violations of the Road Code.
6,721 administrative measures have been imposed, with an average of 960 measures per day, mainly for mobile phone use, not wearing a seat belt, for driving under the influence of alcohol, for speed racing, wrong overtaking, speeding, failure to set protective helmets from drivers of motor vehicles, for circulation with license plates that had expired or did not belong to the vehicle, for incorrect parking, etc.
21 vehicles were blocked, of which:
- 7 means for non-liquidation of fines by their managers;
- 2 tools for lack of documentation;
- 12 vehicles with foreign license plates and luxury vehicles, which were escorted to the premises of the Regional Commissariat of Traffic Police in Tirana, for verification by the Section for Combating Illegal Trafficking in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana.
- 28 foreign license plates were modified, modified, which did not belong to the vehicle or which were deregistered in the countries of origin.
Tirana Traffic Police appeals to all road users to strictly follow the traffic rules and invites citizens to report to 112 of the Digital Commissariat, any violation of traffic rules.
