Montenegro’s parliament is expected to vote today on the overthrow of Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic.
The Montenegrin government is on the verge of collapse following the ruling coalition dispute created by the opposition parties that overthrew Milo Djukanovic’s government after 30 years in power.
If parliament votes to overthrow the government, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic would have to immediately call snap parliamentary elections, while Krivokapic’s government would retain power with a technical mandate.
The crisis of power due to partisan disputes between the Assembly and the Government, as well as within the Government itself, has resulted in demands for the dismissal of all these leaders in Montenegro.
Abazovic demands the dismissal of the Government and Prime Minister Krivokapic. Prime Minister Krivokapic demands Abazovic’s dismissal. The opposition demands the dismissal of Parliament Speaker Becic.
The day before, the Montenegrin Parliament did not vote on the dismissal of Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic. Most MPs did not support the agenda that provided for the vote to dismiss him.
